A fantastic guest house in a beautiful setting-the room was spotless with great views. The owners were friendly and made us feel really at home. It was like staying with friends. Excellent breakfast!
Fantastic bed and breakfast. Beautiful part of the world. Really fabulous guest house with lovely welcoming hosts, top class accommodation and delicious food. Would highly recommend to anyone.
Bridstow Guest House. Very welcoming hosts, lovely house in a peaceful location. The room and bathroom were superb and very spacious. House currently under renovation but this should not put anyone off staying here. Also the breakfasts were delicious. We would stay here again without hesitation.
Fabulous B&B with very friendly and attentive hosts. We booked this place for an overnight stay at Hill House, since we were attending a wedding reception at Glewstone Court Country House. As we were driving over from another wedding in Dorset, the hosts were very attentive in allowing us to check in first, get changed in a flash, then let us in again after midnight. Though the check-in had to be a quick one, we nevertheless noticed how spotless and charming our room was. The house was undergoing a facelift it seems, but our room was absolutely fantastic. Brand new facilities, lovely view out into fields. We felt truly refreshed and rejuvanated after a good night sleep, which followed a fabulous home cooked breakfast. Celia also runs a cooking school we found out on the breakfast menu, The family is very musical, and breakfast with classical music, overlooking picturesque Ross-countryside was a real treat for London travelers. The icing on the cake was how much value for money this place was, especially considering some of the other wedding guests paid more than GBP 70 for Premier Inn in Ross. We really couldn't recommend it more highly. Thanks Celia (and your family) for such a lovely stay, and for accommodating our late return after the wedding reception. Mr and Mrs West.
Brilliant, can't wait to go back. My boyfriend and I stayed for 1 and it was one of the best night sleeps we've had. The room was extremely immaculate and the bed was so comfortable, and on the plus side, the en-suite had a proper bath, which was just what I needed after a long day on the back of a motorbike. The food is absolutely stunning, fresh fruit and full English breakfast in the morning set us for the day ahead. Jon and Celia are both very warm and welcoming and we will definitely be going back.
Hidden gem. We wanted a 1 night stay close to Llangorran and found Bridstow. Lucky us. 5 minutes from A40/A49 junction, 10 minutes to the centre of Ross on Wye. Beautiful house and lovely owners. Might have been to a cleaner hotel but can't think of one at the moment, some work still in progress on the main house but absolutely nothing that detracts from the stay. Lovely room overlooking gardens, very nice bathroom, freesat TV, very comfortable bed. Large car parking area, smashing breakfast. What's not to like.
Best guesthouse we've ever stayed in! The couple who own it made us feel very welcome. Lovely location, great value and a fantastic breakfast the morning after!
Wonderful experience. We stayed one night, wish it was more, will definitely be back! Beautiful house and surrounding countryside. Celia was very welcoming. Room fantastic, exceptional breakfast - a hidden gem!
What A Lovely Find. This was our first stay at Bridstow Guest House and it wont be our last. We found it quite by chance and how lucky we were. Such a lovely house and idyllic setting. We had a very warm welcome from Celia who showed us to our lovely spacious room. We great views over the garden and Hertfordshire countryside.. Breakfast was served in what we called the music room. A great choice of fresh fruit and cereals and lovey cooked breakfast. For us there's nowhere else to stay now when visiting the local area. Hope to be back again soon.
We only stayed 1 night but wished it could have been more and will come again. Comfortable, clean, friendly and a beautifully restored house is a peaceful rural setting. Spacious and tastefully designed for a restful stay and a bit of luxury.
Beautiful. Simply stunning room, glorious views, very warm and helpful hosts and breakfasts fit for a king, I have no hesitation in recommending to others!
Perfection. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Celia and Jon made us feel extremely welcome. Our room was absolutely beautiful. The bed was so comfortable I now want a new bed at home. The cooked breakfast was delicious.
Absolute luxury. A wonderful experience, every detail perfect. Lovely countryside setting, fantastic period house. This is as good as it gets. Better in my opinion than most 5 star Hotels.
Couldn't ask for a better place to stop. Just quality all round. Host both very helpfull and friendly.
Little Gem. What can I say, The owners couldn't have been more helpful. The room we stayed in was superb, large with a wonderful bathroom and super comfortable bed. It overlooked the farmland towards Ross On Wye and was super quite, just how I like it. Breakfast in the morning was superb and set us up for the day. You need a car or book taxi to get into town at night but that's not a problem if you desire a peaceful and quiet location, you can't have it both ways. We are looking forward to our next visit and will definitely try to book here again..
Delightful stay. A warm welcome from the owners who bent over backwards to make our stay a pleasant one. The room we stayed in was huge with a lovely bay window and views accross the garden and beyond. The position of the house was perfect, being in quiet countryside yet close to Ross on Wye and all transport links. The breakfast was suberb with locally grown produce all beautifully prepared and cooked.
Fantastic little home away from home! We didn't get to stay in the area as long as we had planned as work had reneged on my annual leave so we arrived late. Still, we quickly settled due to the comfortable house and surroundings. The room and en suite are so spacious yet homely, the big bay windows afford you a beautiful view outside and the breakfast is perfect; this place is not only a home away from home, it's actually better than our home. Celia was so welcoming and helpful, we can't wait to pop down again!
Bridstow Guest House. Excellent friendly service in a quiet beautiful environment. Just what we wanted.
Ideal B and B. Excellent in every respect. Many thanks.
Very enjoyable stay. A lovely big room of very high quality and views over the garden and hills. The breakfast was delicious. Shame we were only staying for one night.
Superb. Stayed here prior to our wedding as a bit of "down time" - room was superb with a wonderful bath and huge shower. Hosts were very friendly and helpful - a true 11/10 place.
Excellent! Perfect get away, peaceful, warm, welcoming guest house. Hosts were fantastic. The luxurious room was so comfy. Beautiful scenery. Breakfast was SO yummy. Only about a 20 minute walk (stroll) into the town centre. Lots of pubs in the centre and places to eat. Happily visit again.
“Tranquil Quality Retreat." A very high quality Guest House for B+B. Rooms furnished and presented as good as a "Boutique" hotel. Stunning location very close to Ross on Wye. Excellent breakfast choices, including smoked salmon and scrambled egg! All for £80/£90 per room per night. I am surprised this is the first Trip Advisor review. Also can highly recommend Moody Cow in Upton Bishop as a perfect place for dinner.
“For one night only-unfortunately." This without doubt must be about the best guest house for miles around. The room we had was spacious and beautiful. The bathroom fantastic, lovely deep bath. Breakfast was excellent. The owners were both just lovely, and gave us details of places we could visit on our onward journey, which indeed we did. We would never have found them. Stay there again?? In a heartbeat. Absolutely.
“Fantastic!” We had such a lovely overnight at Bridstow en route to our camping holiday in Abergavenny. We stayed in a huge wonderfully light, airy and stylish bedroom with an equally enormous bathroom. Big fluffy towels, home-made shortbread, massive comfy bed – all the essentials for a fantastic night away! Breakfast was truly delicious, everything home-made as far as possible. Helpful hosts who really couldn't do enough for you. Can thoroughly recommend and being slightly out of the town centre meant it was incredibly peaceful with lovely views over the church.
“Simply Wonderful." What a special treat this is. Beautifully renovated period house, in enchanting countryside near Ross-on-Wye. Faultless in every way. The owners, consummate professionals, have transformed this into arguably one of the best places we have ever stayed. Although the whole impression is of expensive 'too good to touch' furnishings , the genuine welcome from the owners immediately puts one at ease and their friendly approach make it very clear that this is home and to be fully enjoyed. The breakfast is an experience in itself, simply fantastic ! We had great difficulty tearing ourselves away. It's better than any 5 star hotel and certainly must be experienced. We have found our new favourite place and will certainly be back again soon.
“A special place to stay.” Bridstow Guest House is a detached Victorian house in a rural location just outside Ross on Wye. Celia and Jon bought the property a couple of years ago and have renovated and modernised it to a stunningly high standard. It oozes good taste, is comfortable and relaxing and has been stylishly furnished. Our bedroom was extremely large with a bay window overlooking the garden and countryside. The ensuite bathroom was beautiful. Celia runs catering courses - breakfast was excellent. Celia and Jon are welcoming hosts, happy to chat and to give local information. We had booked for one night to break our journey down to Cornwall but soon after arrival were wishing we were staying longer. We cannot recommend it too highly. It is a hidden gem.
“A lot to like about this place!” We have just returned from a weekend break staying at Bridstow Guest House. We found this place online and booked in on the strength of the TA reviews. Well we were not disappointed. The location is stunning with far reaching views over countryside and it was so peaceful and quiet. The room was lovely with spacious living and very modern bathroom. The breakfast was very nice, with lots of choice. I have to say, if you are looking for somewhere for dinner look no further than the "Moody Cow" - a fabulous gastro pub about 15 mins drive away in a village called Upton Bishop. We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend away in Hereford staying at Bridstow Guesthouse.
“Charming and welcoming visit.” I only stayed in this apartment for one night, but it was just as good, if not better then the photos. Celia and her husband were very welcoming and couldn't do enough to make our stay more comfortable. Lovely bathroom, lovely house, lovely hosts. No hesitation to stay there again, should I be in the area. Vast choice of food for breakfast - just a shame I couldn't eat it all.
“A lovely B&B near Ross-On-Wye." A lovely house in an idyllic setting. My husband and I stayed for the weekend as a treat for our wedding anniversary & my birthday. Absolutely beautiful room, stunning views. The food was gorgeous & nothing was too much trouble.
“Very nice stay - great hosts." Although we only stayed here for one night, it was a very pleasant stay. The owners were very hospitable, our room was very nicely furnished and the bathroom, as has been mentioned before, was modern and huge! The breakfast was delicious; proper homemade. Really hard to fault it at all!
“A lovely B&B near Ross-On-Wye." This is a lovely B&B in a gorgeous house in a village near Ross-On-Wye. We stayed in the cheaper 'Welsh Room' which was by no means the budget option with a large comfortable bed, lots of space, view over the garden and a modern bathroom with luxurious deep bath! The hosts were very welcoming but still left us to do our own thing.

We had a great stay at Celia's. The house is situated in a beautiful and scenic spot, surrounded nature. The house itself is high spec and the room offers all that you could wish for; spacious, clean, well equipped and with plenty of light. Most importantly, Celia was accommodating and we'd be happy to come back again.
A lovely stay: bright, airy room with views over the lawn; amazing shortbread biscuits; great breakfast. Celia and her husband were very welcoming and helpful, especially when our transport fell through. Thanks!
The Bridstow Guest House and Celia (and her husband John) are the perfect B & B combination. The house, called Hill House, is absolutely beautiful and our room was beyond expectations. It was quiet, spacious, and beautifully decorated. The bed and pillows were the most comfortable, especially for afternoon naps. We were walking distance from Ross-on-Wye, Peterstow, and Broome Farm. We had access to public walking paths, which we used daily. We were also close to country bus stops (33/34, not 44 as specified in The Lonely Planet) which stops in both Hereford and Glouster. If you are at all in doubt about breakfast, the answer is a resounding "YES!" Celia is an amazing cook and her coffee and homemade preserves were delicious. This was the perfect home for a quiet weekend getaway in the English countryside.
On arrival we were made to feel very welcome. The guest house was superb and the location very beautiful and peaceful. It was the perfect location for our house hunting in the area. The whole experience was luxury.
Celia was a great host and very warm and accommodating. Our room was nice and big, tastefully styled, with an immaculate bathroom. We came here looking for a peaceful retreat and had a lovely experience. It's a great little base from which to explore the Wye Valley and Monmouthshire. I'd definitely recommend staying here.
Everything about our stay at Bridstow Guest House was perfect. It's the attention to detail here that makes all the difference. Our sumptuously decorated, super-comfortable bedroom had sweeping views of the garden and fields beyond and a luxurious en suite bathroom that was almost big enough to get lost in. We can recommend Celia's breakfast too (provided for an extra charge), which includes a choice of local bacon, sausages and eggs served in an elegant dining room. Think luxury boutique hotel for a fraction of the price.
The house is absolutely amazing, very tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. Celia was wonderful host who welcomed us on our late arrival with smile. The room we had was large, very comfy bed. Beautiful views. There are tea and coffee in the room and toiletries in bathroom. My favourite was the home cooked breakfast which was delicious and made to order served in breakfast room with nice music.
Celia and John are the perfect hosts and the guest house itself is beautiful! We can't recommend this place enough and we know we'll be back again 🙂 We really didn't want to leave on the Sunday, especially following Celia's wonderful breakfast in the drawing room, looking out onto the garden and fields beyond! Thank you again, we'll come and see you after we're married!
